The Switch
Today we visited a windmill alternator building company. It started with a presentation of the company : SWITCH. They presented the different products they sold: windmill alternators, motors (boats and other machines) as well as générators. They also explained us how electromagnetism worked and how their different products used this principe. He also showed us the different types of windmills and the evolution of the electric rendering of these through the years. Then we visited the factory. The guide explained us the security rules and the different steps of their product making. He also made a few jokes which made the visit less boring than the first presentation. The factory was huge and they had to use cranes to move the product because they were very heavy.
Salibandi
In the evening we learned how to play salibandi.
This is a finish indoor hockey without skates, so you are in shoes and you have to run with the stick in the hands. Score is simple you just have to put the ball ( the puck is remplaced by a plastic ball) in the goals..
We started the game by doing two different teams (bleue and red) and as we were to many we separated the 2 teams in 2 groups and we were turning every 5 minutes.
The game was really fun and we enjoyed it.

Water power plant in Imatra
On Thursday afternoon, all the French students went to Imatra, a town in eastern Finland. They are all accompanied by their English teachers with guides to know about the dam and to understand the challenges of global warming.
Arriving there, the students had a tour with explanations by the personnels. We even watched a short video about the construction of the dam, unfortunately there was no traduction in English.
Besides during the whole tour we had to wear some safety clothes ( a helmet and a reflective jacket).
